Did you watch a dodgy game to everyone else?

Quite possibly haha, I do feel out of touch with the diving etc of modern football. I think that's a life of lower league following. My thought process was the penalty that i think has been discussed enough, and 2nd goal that came from buildup after a free kick that wasn't a free kick.
But there was lots of times the Netherlands had and they should have done better. Losing Depay early was a blow.
I think Southgate has to start Watkins now, Kane doesn't add much, and I think we need the pace and passion up front for Spain.

Alternatively you need somebody like kane dragging people around for ages and ages ages getting the defenders used to one thing and then you put a different strike on and then you get a result

Amusing R5 interview with Mario Melchiot just now where he was texting JFH to congratulate him and translating 'all aboard the hype train, choo choo' into Dutch. Also interesting that the Dutch players did not really complain about the penalty, Melchiot's comments were that they were brought up to just see incorrect decisions as another part of the story of the game, that this can and will happen, it's just another thing to overcome. Engerland would have been going on about it for years.

Commentators last night couldn’t stop fucking banging on about what Koeman did in ‘94, for instance.
Also, ITV couldn’t stop saying “on foreign soil” last night, fucking annoying

Fair. Still think it was painful. Have we talked about how good that penalty was?
-
• #170783
Still, did anyone see Scotland last night? Or Northern Ireland?

Clearly Koeman wasn't brought up the same way

Win win for me this final, be chuffed to bits if England win but Valencia will be a lot of fun if not, especially given how it was when the local team won the Copa del Rey a few years back.

The only dragging kane did was his arse about the pitch. He was so deep the defenders just ignored him.
As for depay, he doesn't ever seem able complete 90 minutes so I think it was planned for him to come off.
Edited for autocorrect fuckup

I was in Seville that weekend, where the final was being held.
Bumped into a couple of Valencia fans and spent an hour walking about, drinking beers, chatting shit with them. They were optimistic but certain they would lose.
Watched the game when I got home and was made up for Valencia winning,
I was never happier to see a team that I gave zero shits about winning. -

First time I've seen fireworks get set off inside a (admittedly fairly large) marquee. Hopefully the last too.

Anyone else an Exeter City fan on here?!
Having seen Ollie Watkins come through the ranks with us, the goal hit different.

I haven’t followed Copa America for a hot minute. USA hosting big crowds quite a spectacle. Brazil have been poor, lots of penalty shoot outs in the knock stages. Canada making it the Semi finals though is quite something.
Argentina and Colombia final will be tasty, hard to call it.. Argentina (1) are odds on favourites based on world rankings, Colombia (15) have grown in confidence, Rodriguez still their spiritual leader.
Final is in Miami imagine that as a home fixture for the Colombians, city must be buzzing
For comparison recent friendly at London Stadium

So painful he smashed in a penalty on that foot about 2 minutes later.
