Ha, had forgotten about that. Although I definitely remember the struggle of getting back on after stopping each time over the ride. Especially as I’ve been noticing that I don’t have the same struggle anywhere near as much as I used to.
I also remember grimacing as the number 1 cycle route ceased to be tarmac towards the end for some sections. A lo-pro on 23c gator skins is certainly not a gravel bike!
I can remember the view from Berwick station at the finish really vividly as well, the magnitude of the occasion obviously etched it into my mind. Fond memories!

Nice write up! I remember the original ride well. Including eating and entire fish and chips each and being unable to get back on the bikes
