Yes, but I think the point is that many people can't afford a phone smart enough to have bank cards uploaded onto it.
It's been a battle to get some of my elderly relatives to have any form of a mobile phone (one is using an iPhone - and no chance of getting cards onto it, one is using a Nokia 8210 and one cannot be convinced at all).
I've got cards on my phone but I never use it for that. Much prefer to have a wallet with physical cards (plus other things like driving license) and some backup cash. Generally also carry around some stamps and some plasters too #dadlife.
