    I think they will have checked him over. I suppose my point is more they aren’t required to release the information. The ankle is reason enough.

  • Yeah - it was a mechanic I think. I'm sure they've had some training but shouldn't be making a major decision. Tough in bike racing cos you can't fuck about for 5 mins. I'd hope and expect the team/race medics did some protocols on him once back on the bike and patching him up.

  • It's exactly what you should be able to do, wait for doctor, be checked, cleared to race and then driven to catch up.
    Honestly I feel like substitutions should be allowed too.
    But hey, good old days.

  • He had a wound on his elbow and was back at the race doctor's car shortly after the crash having that dressed. One presumes they did a concussion check whilst he was there, but even if they thought he had a concussion, I don't know what power they have to intervene and stop him riding.
