I've had a similar crash to his before, where I've gone over the bars and somersaulted, and didn't get concussion. I think teams are very aware of this and will have checked him yesterday and probably again today, but not every accident leads to concussion.

Of course. To me the guy assisting him looked uncomfortable with the situation. I’ll watch it again.
I think they will have checked him over. I suppose my point is more they aren’t required to release the information. The ankle is reason enough.

Who has the responsibility for making an injured rider stop? Is the race doctor meant to intervene?

Yeah I’d have to watch it again but doesn’t feel like a big leap. It also doesn’t state he passed any concussion protocol. Not sure they’d admit a form of negligence in their press release but maybe there’s precedent for this?
