2023-25-06 Rider down, fatality (murder), Nunhead

This doesn't appear to have been covered elsewhere. Rohan Trotman was knocked off his bike deliberately by two thieves, and then stabbed to death when he resisted. He was my friend's cousin and the trial of the murderer is currently underway; his accomplice fled the country soon after the attack. From what my mate's seeing in court, the evidence is pretty conclusive, so hopefully he will go down.

Odd that it was reported today, they delivered the verdict Monday. Sentencing is 26/06.

Again, nobody seems to have reported it, but cunt got 28 years. Came out in court that he had a very long record of violent crime, including battering a cop and breaking a number of bones. He came from a strict Muslim family with 6 or 7 siblings, all of whom went to university, got good jobs and are exemplary citizens. Then there's this wasteman...

My experience is only with features. Perhaps people with news experience can chip in? Until they do, I'd guess that no paper wants to be dominated by crime stories, so they only cover a few of them. And sentencing doesn't have much news value unless it's for a very big story, so it's fitted in around other news when resources permit.
