Cash sometimes has handling charges associated with it and has security issues which card payments don't so each have their pros and cons

I always assume they factor this into their pricing and cash gives them a 2% boost rather than cards causing a 2% loss (or whatever the fees are)

Whereas the time taken cashing up at the end of the day and taking the cash to the bank and till discrepancies are all totally free…
Whilst I agree that cash should be accepted and digital payment shouldn’t solely be relied upon, the idea that cash payments are free for the retailer isn’t really true
