• My dog has become a bit of a prick at nighttime.
He just turned 3, has lived with us since he was 12 weeks old or so.
Always been a good sleeper, rarely had us up in the night before.
Lately he had been barking at all hours, nothing in the garden to bother him.
Sometimes he is in his bed, laying there, barking.

I am going to jazz up his meals/ mealtimes so he gets less breakfast and more dinner, slightly later, to see if it is hunger induced. He does revisit his food bowl after the pre-bed piss (4 hours after he licked it clean after his dinner) so I am wondering if he is hungry and being noisy is him try to get us to feed him.
We don't (in the night) as we fear it will encourage more noise for food, regularly.

    Any other suggestions?
His bedroom is the kitchen, comfy bed, fresh water available, nothing different from the last 100 weeks.
(Border Terrier, BTW, so know they are stubborn little fuckers)

  • Might be worth trying a before-bedtime walk or play?
When my dog is a dick, 9 times out of 10 he just needs a bit more mental stimulation. I've been wrestling with him (rope toy) a bit more recently, which he loves. I've definitely noticed a bit of a difference.
