Is that your price or the seller’s? For a post 2014 (longer wheelbase) 6sp with nothing missing and nothing broken, cracked or rusted, £400 is a bargain and a half.

That’s what they are asking. It’s the next door neighbour so looks like mates rates then. Which is nice.

mates rates
I bought a VGC 3sp in port talbot last year for £400, and considered it a great deal (I was in the area anyway). You’ll be hard pressed to fine a well cared for modern Brompton 6sp for under £650 in London, £600 with some luck.

I’ve owed a few steel ones and they ride so much nicer than the T-line. They T line actually feels unsafe

Can you please elaborate for those of us with little hope of getting hands on a T line?

What’s the going rate for a S2L (ti forks and rear triangle) these days?
I’m thinking of going electric

What's the way to firm up the rear suspension? Is the Brompton 'firm' block best?
-
• #15413
@sacredhart
I think one of the cheapest and easiest advances you can make.NB Brompton now say this:
https://www.brompton.com/support/knowledge/how-does-suspension-work-on-a-bromptonAs a result, we now only use one type of suspension block type with our bikes. The hardness of the new block is between the two old types of suspension
You can obviously spend a bit more ranging from £49-£100 if you want even more, (https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/search/?term=suspension%20blocks%20&page=2) but if you are over 70kg (I can't find the reference that used to be on some sites), you will notice a difference with anything firmer

Brompton used to do a 'normal' and firm suspension block. Now there's only one and it's firm. I bought this yesterday as I wanted something supposed to be the bees knees for the price: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/frames/joseph-kuosac-suspension-block-for-bromptons-super-firm-black/

@Arvy. @infmz Thanks for the info. I ordered one of the de ver deals. Exciting.
So far planning to change the saddle to my preferred Fabric. 44t chainring because hills. Firmer block^ and a large bag for now. Maybe some upgraded wheelie wheels.
Black bars and mudguards, ti post, conti tyres and toolkit for the future upgrades.Anything else I should consider?

Also anyone selling a T bag or large borough?

EBay is your friend.

Maybe some upgraded wheelie wheels.
Decathlon roller blade wheels might do the job; you need a longer bolt to attach them and some of this parish report heel strike so be careful on your first few outings to be sure.
The only other area I would recommend is bar grips. You might consider updating your brakes, but see how you settle for now.

Actually tracking the darned things down is a trick. They had a set for <£20, but I’ve yet to have luck finding one.

there's one on ebay that's ending in an hour:

I have no issues with a full t bag on my 2 speed s bar. I’ll try to find a picture to show what I mean, but if you over fill the bag till the point it is over spilling then turning will be an issue but manageable.

Hopefully getting Liz her own Brompton 6 speed next week. It’s just been serviced and is well looked after. It’s from a bike collector that is getting a Tline. I obviously won’t hold anyone to this, but does £400 sound about right?
