Happy that Labour got in
Sad that conservatives are still in opposition
Upset that reform made some progress. People like my sister and her boyfriend vote reform. They are Massive homophobe/racists. -

Nadine Dorries, "He went on a scholarship"
Rory Stewart, "No he didn't"
Good bantz to watch clipped, but watching the Channel 4 exit poll coverage was pretty gruelling I thought.
It was a really obnoxious group they had in there. Within 15 minutes before I switched over we heard from Dories, Kwarteng, Zahawi and Widdecombe without it being pointed out to their faces that they were absolute grifters. I'm not even sure why they were all there in the first place, their opinions are worthless.

9,650,254 votes… lol… just better than 2005’s dismal showing

Absolute scenes in North Herefordshire where the Tory incumbent had a 25k majority.
Incredible result. Waveney Valley too, but I think they did very well in the local elections around there? Hopefully winning in the shires is a breakthrough moment for them.

Who are the simple people in this case?

True - it's a mixed bag. But the pressures post 2016 referendum to get the Tories in for Brexit purposes muddy the waters. I still think the UKIP 12% 2015 share vs Reform at 14% is a realistic one. I am happy to be corrected. But a straight comparison with 2019, when they stood down their candidates doesn't work either.

Mid Devon and exmouth Tory MPs keeping their seats by 60 and 120 votes respectively.

Ashton, Yarmouth, Clacton, Boston. No offence to the blameless residents but they're all shit holes so were deliberately selected cos the disenfranchised are susceptible to all the blame bein heaped on scapegoats. Outsiders.

Poole on a 3rd recount

Seats yet to declare, because I was interested:
- South Basildon and East Thurrock - "There will be a complete recount of the vote later today".
After a delayed first count, the Reform candidate James McMurdock appeared to have won the seat with around 12,000 votes from Labour's Jack Ferguson, with another beaten Tory, Stephen Metcalfe, around 1,000 votes behind.
Initially candidates were told Reform had won by a margin of 127 votes, which prompted Labour to demand a recount and an initial check found botched counting procedures.
- Poole - third recount (source: @GoatandTricycle :P). Tory and Labour candidates had six votes between them, a 'bundle flick' was ordered then a full recount. LABOUR GAIN.
- Inverness, Skye and West Ross-Shire - recount/vote check.
- Dumfries and Galloway - count still ongoing (Borders constituencies often seem to be slow).
- Dumfriesshire Clydesdale and Tweeddale - count still ongoing (same). CON HOLD
- South Basildon and East Thurrock - "There will be a complete recount of the vote later today".

Run-down seaside towns where the imagery of boats full of migrants landing can be hammered home?
Sad isn't it, and a bit of an indictment of communities being left behind.

I feel sorry for their kids.
I’ll give an example of how pathetic they are. Since the creme egg advert with two men kissing, my sister refuses to buy or even eat creme eggs.

The electoral system needs to be reformed.
Yep - still this. The country isn't a 2 party state any longer. Ignoring the 2 brexit elections, the vote share for Labour and Cons has been declining for ages now and FPTP doesn't really work.
A Lab/Lib/Green coalition would be good I would hope, bringing more focus on climate issues etc, but also acknowledge that Con/Ref coalition would be fucking horrendous. -

I guess the rural Scottish constituencies are really spread out so takes them a while to collect them all in, while stuck behind a tractor/flock of sheep.

It's the haggises ("haggi"?). They get into the ballot boxes, which slows things down while they're turfed out.
