  • Surely Tories won’t take all 15 remaining

  • Kuntsberg looking like someone's shit on her
    Weetabix.

  • Just noticed near me, Richard Drax has gone, seat going to labour. The back of him is an excellent view. And so much of the SW going orange including where I am in west Dorset which has been Tory safety for a long time.

  • Not knowing that feels a little shameful!

  • I was up about 2 then meant to get up again at 4, but fell asleep before I set my alarm, then was up in time to see Truss lose.

My happiness at a Labour landslide is somewhat reduced by the fact the Tories are predicted to get 24% of the vote, still, despite everything, and despite it being their worst ever defeat.

But reduced number of Reform seats is good news. Let's hope they're given the amount of publicity commensurate to their number of seats...

  • No worries!

  • She's just interviewed Jess Phillips and constantly tried to denegrate her win.

    'A wins a win'

    Cry harder Toryberg 🤮

  • Mainly Scottish and Northern Irish seats left to declare, so definitely not.

  • The BBC absolutely desperate to spin a negative story for Labour.

    Disgustingly partisan at times.

I’ve been watching this live as it happened on iPlayer (from Japan) and the attempts at digs pretty consistently at the incoming party have been diabolical.

Jess Phillips was a bit thorny on that right now and rightly so.

The country is severely divided, hence the split voting across the board to smaller parties increasing, but such a massive majority can’t be downplayed for the sake of manufactured drama.

  • Greens up to second in our seat. Labour share down 5%. Definitely not a massive endorsement.

  • Communist party got 2600 votes.

No insight I just love looking at the small parties and what they got.

  • Glad Jess called her out on it too. She's such a vile human being, can't wait for her to fuck off to GB News.

  • This is all tainted by Corbyn winning Islington North. FFS.

  • I agree re: Laura K - yet I'm still watching the BBC despite this!

What's the best alternative at the mo? Sky? I didn't like C4 grilling everyone like the campaign was still on.

  • I went with Sky News for coverage as I can’t stand Laura K, though that was full of Tory Gammons last night when I switched off.

Can’t believe where I live hasn’t turned red and we’re stuck with a Tory c*nt and the percentage of vote that reform received is shocking.

  • .

  • Tory hold where I am. Slightly surprising I thought they’d be gone.
Lots of folk disillusioned with Tory government but unable to bring themselves to vote Labour “because Tony Blair” or something.
    Fuckin bumpkins.

  • Labour going to get fewer votes in total than they did in 2019? Currently on 9.6m versus 10.26m in 2019.

  • ^^That’s interesting though - Blair being seen by many as Centre Right, shows where the modern Tory voter has drifted.

  • Reform only slightly out performing UKIP from 2015.

  • They have lower vote share than 2017, if they have less absolute votes than 2019 I expect it is driven by second lowest turn out of all time

Landslide victory is a consequence of our system rather than a reflection of huge support

  • A Labour victory with Streeting unseated would have been the cherry on top.

  • Yeah 50% turn out in my area.

  • The four Reform seats are all in shitholes. Take what you will from that.

  • Steve baker, on the bbc, pleased to see that back of that cunt.
