I got a free Pizza rack but need the mounts on the fork. Rack eyelets are the same width apart as the fork eyelets, so need something like their mounts to push the attachment forward. Is there a cheaper option for mounts than their kit, which is £20ish last time I looked? Seems silly money to pay for a pair of tabs.

I found this
https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/396933/#comment17413596If I could stick a rack on there it would be my "i don't care" bike.
Is there a 26" wheel rack I should be looking at for no more than £20? -

Is there a Bike Cooperative near you? Ours always has stuff like this knocking about for a small donation

What would be the best rack for a road bike without eyelets, I'd like to mount it on the QR axle. I've seen the Axiom Streamliner but it's impossible to find in the UK, any other suggestions welcome. I've solved the mounting issue at the top by using a seat clamp with mounts.

What do the dropouts look like? Is the surface flat enough for the qr to squeeze the rack against, or are they "hooded" as with Breezer or Ritchey?

Expensive but excellent.
Ortlieb quick rack.

Thanks, I tried it and it's good, but it still requires P-clips, which I'd prefer not to use.

It's flat.

I have this Tubus Disco. Mine is mounted to eyelets, but it can be mounted via QR. It's very solid.

I love the QR Bagmans functionality, but I don't like the loop hanging down when not using it.
I also wanted option of a bit more versatility, so picked up a Tumbleweed T rack. Has rack so I can strap stuff to top, and the three mounts for either bottle cages, or ortlieb fork packs etc.
Works great with the saddlebag too, and have a little strap on bottom to keep it from wobbling too much.
One thing though is my rear light now can't be seen. The rack has a 6mm bolt mount I could use, but my spare light mount is 5mm, and the Tracer doesn't fit in it. Any recommendations on what I can do for rear light? It's also got the usual two bolts on the back if there is a rechargeable light that mounts there?

Yeah they're cool, but M5 bolts I think

Probably doesn't weigh much different to that giant loop either.
-
• #1343
Could you get one of these and drill it out?
-
• #1344
True, I weighed the loop about 350g, the rack is 457g apparently, although hardware prob adds another 100 or so after I chopped down the stays.

That's a good shout.

Like all Carradice products, the bagman is 50% pure genius (the qr bracket) 50% british engineering (loop of pig iron that weighs the same as a tubus fly)

Drilled through my current one, works great. Not sure why I didn't think of that at the time!

hi everyone new here, looking to get a front rack (axle/fork mount) for my steamroller, any recomendations pls?

Welcome!
Everything descends into individual threads around here....eventually.
Steamroller thread - https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/159768/
Front Rack thread - https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/265879/There will be loads of chat / options with a trawl through the most recent 10 pages or so. Feel free to go back further if you are so inclined.
I just added a Pelago front rack to my Steamroller. Axle-ish mount as I run Goldtec hubs and I mounted mine through the hub bolts. Works fine but I have not taken pics yet.
