Any mastering recommendations? I've managed to motivate myself get an album together (about 80% there) and would like it mastered properly.
Any clues on what's a decent price, just going to be a self release, no plans for world domination or anything so I don't want to spend mega bucks but also happy to pay to get it sounding good.
It's breaks, in the sort of overmono/bicep world I guess, dance music but not edm banger land.

I feel like I go back and forth on this every 6 months or so, but if anyone is after a Reface DX or Reface CS (plus Decksaver for both), give me a shout.

Not had the Digitakt II very long and this is pretty much my first jam with it. I got a really good deal on a UAFX Max compression and pre-amp pedal the other week too, so this is the audio straight from Max into Ableton Live. I think it sounds pretty good (maybe a little over compressed). I ran the LA-2A into the 1176 FET in parallel mode and there’s some of the 610 pre-amp for colour too.

Regards the Digitakt. I've been using the 1010 Music BlackBox for a few years, and that's really simple to use. The Digitakt. I find the whole drive+, samples, selecting them then loading to a project very convuluted and frustrating. Compared with the BlackBox it's a right PITA. However the different machines and the modulation options to multiple destinations is really good.
I still can't figure out how to change the length of the sequence for one part (sample).... is that called a track? Dunno. Can only seem to change for all. Need to RTFM probably. I like the fact you can choose the range of the filters and also the FX. Plus the ability to have reverb on all the other FX! (bit mad but OK!)
I'm like 40% sold on it. The project/drive/sample and transfer workflow absolutely sucks balls IMO

Yeah Elektron has always been a RTFM situation (even though Thom Yorke claimed never to have read the Monomachine manual).
Without being able to check quickly, IIRC I think there is a pattern setting (i.e., it can be set for each pattern) that "unlocks" the per-track scale length.

This is sounding good by the way. Have you compared the internal Digitakt compressor to the UA one? I'm definitely sold on UA compressors in software, didn't know if being able to sidechain / ignore compression on the kick is "better" though. If only the DT had an assignable out or two.
Also, how are you liking the Cizzle? I always loved the sound of the Casio phase distortion synths.

Thanks I'll check the manual def.
I've not done a comparison with Digitakt compression as yet. There is a bass sidechain setting in the UAFX app for the Max pedal, but I feel like it only ducks the low end and doesn't quite grab the attack of the kick
Cizzle is really good! It's been in constant use since I got it

Lots of Cizzle action here!

Function + page
Function + yesThis should knock the ‘scales’ (lengths) to per-track (from per-pattern).
Each of the 16 buttons is a track. The 16 tracks exist in a pattern (in a bank) lol. I hope I didn’t make things worse :D

Looking for a new MIDI keyboard now my M Audio Keystation 49 has bitten the dust (aka slammed on the floor from its perch, thus dying a death).
49 keys seems to be the sweet spot for size/playability for me. I'm not a pianist or anything but use it to control virtual instruments in Logic, mostly sampler instruments rather than synths.
Prefer a slightly more weighted feel to the keys, though I accept at lower prices (not keen on spending a whole lot) and 49 keys semi weighted is already hard enough to come by. I'm not interested in pads, knobs and faders but won't hate them being there.
What's a good option for good playing feel and 49 keys. The Nektar Impact GX49 seems possibly a cheap candidate but a lot of people have very good things to say on the feel of the Arturia Keylab or some of the Novation controllers (the Impulse is quite old now but seems to be aimed at giving that slightly more weighted feel?). Any recommendations from folks that might well know their stuff, unlike me?
Thanks!

I had a GX61 as my first full-sized MIDI controller, was pretty happy with the key feel. Later moved to a Keylab Essential which was very spongy (though the proper Keylabs are apparently much better). Now using an FL Key (same as the Novation Launchkey) and feels pretty nice, a little lighter than the Nektar from what I can remember, but that was a few years ago.
If possible, I'd definitely recommend going to a store and trying some out. Though not really sure where that would be. I had a quick look at the Anderton's store there and from what I can see they only have Novation controllers (and a few Akai Minis) on display.

I have what I think is the Alesis version of this that not likely to use again having gone full drum pad/sampler route if you’re interested in second hand. Would need to check number of keys, but definitely semi-weighted velocity sensitive ones they IMHO play quite well. it does have a small 3x3 set of pads to the left hand side however.

Thanks for the feedback, really useful! Was going to pop by Denmark st as it's near work though not a lot is left there these days :( One store focuses on digital pianos and keyboards though so will see if they have anything there.
@C4r1s definitely open to second hand, sounds like you might have a V49? https://www.alesis.com/products/view/v49.html I had been looking at those, too!

Ah I’ve just had a check and it’s the v61 :( sorry! Knew it wasn’t full sized but couldn’t quite remember which it was. If you don’t find a 49 key and want a 61 key then let me know, it won’t be going anywhere!

Check out the Roland A500 Pro or the A49 without all the knobs/faders etc. I've had Nektar and M-Audio and the Roland feels better than both to me (I use an A800 Pro).
The only caveat with Roland is they have their own pitch / modulation controller design, like an integrated joystick, instead of the more usual pair of wheels, so you'd need to be ok with that.

Are you still looking for something BTW? I'm clearing out some music gear and found that I still have that GX61 up in the storage room. It's not boxed, but happy to send it for postage costs.
Will be getting rid of a Roland MC-101 & Yamaha Reface CS/DX pairing (all 3 with Decksavers and the MC-101 including 100+ of the ZenCore soundpacks), will grab some photos if anyone here is interested before popping up on Reverb.

Drone using all four Perkons voices set to 100% decay and tuned to roughly scale.
100 Grit doing some really lovely and gnarly filtering with resonance on a drone using Loquelic Iteratis and ALM/Busy Circuits Cizzle coming through on the lead

I like it.

Thanks! I need to record some of these properly

I've been trying to do this with my jam sessions but I'm not into it for the editing!
Compression would probably be a good next step.
PM'd about the Soundcraft mixer. Cheers
