Very nice. I wouldn’t have expected that aero stem to look good on a small headtube but it looks great.
Personally I would BDHU but apart from that looks spot on (including the gold chain).

Many thanks!
Since I wanted to use as much enve as possible, I had the choice between the road stem and this.
And the road stem looked much worse so….
I think on the caad5 version with integrated, it might look a tad cleaner
And yea bars still tbd

Yeah, the road stem is one chonki boi. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one look good on smaller headtubes.

Is that a very expensive saddle? Looks comfy
-
• #5282
What does it weigh in at?
-
• #5283
Hell yeah
-
• #5284
I think its a pretty clean 7.0kgs without pedals iirc…
@damskodonny well… I have survived 300 km and 350 km in this saddle so id say it is okay. Price wise i think it was 120€ and it weighs 75 grams so pretty fair
The only issue is that it does not seem to be available in a shop. I got it from someone who customises saddles and uses these as blanks. Shape is TUNE kommVor but the tune has some padding i believe

The strip of material on the back of a tune isn’t really padding and it wears and splits pretty quickly.
Bike looks great.

Thanks for that! Also good info from greeno, I won't be spending €250 on a tune then.

Oooh I like this thread. My 1997 Raleigh Special Products Titanium. Ultegra groupset with Winspace Hyper Wheels. A lot of fun to ride.

Sturdy 8k framset who? LoL
-

To add in case useful, I find it pretty comfy for normal riding and I like it, but your bum does slide on it when you’re trying to hold an aggressive position, so I don’t use it on my race bike. Switched it out during a bike fit.

Eh? Sorry I don’t get that reference 🧐

Titanium frame builder in UK offering £8k (just the frame) equivalent...
Subjective which looks better imo
-
• #5293
I like mine, got it for much cheaper otherwise I wouldn't have bought it, but it's actually confortable given the low weight.

Oh I see… yeah my frame cost me £275 a decade ago. I don’t ride it much, but it’s a bit of history and I love it.

• #5295
Very nice!

The frame has arrived and I’m stoked with it. Wheels seem to go in without much persuasion. I intend to slim down the end caps on the axles slightly.
Now leaning towards Campag with five arm cranks just because I am struggling to find Dura Ace at a sensible price.
Does anybody know the best way for me to verify that this is Dave Yates-built before I buy some decals to stick on? I suppose it doesn’t really matters but the bottom bracket is stamped. The seller said he’d had it confirmed as a Yates bike by DY himself on a forum several years ago.

I genuinely feel bad that I paid so little for this. Won it for £190 and that’s astonishing considering it has a DA seat post, headset and bottom bracket.
Bikes are fetching next to nothing these days.

Mad bargain

I saw this on eBay, lovely frame although the serial number would mean it was built in 83 not 90. The serial number on yours is stamped in same position and format as a confirmed DY frame I have so I would be pretty confident it’s a DY. He was on this forum a few months ago could try messaging @DaveYates

Oh wow. Thanks very much.
Will message Dave.
Yeah, there's plenty of spare space to work with; I have a wheel on which I swapped the 8/9/10s cassette body for a 7s one, and then jammed a slightly machined 10s billet cassette back on.
