£500 posted. He didn't know, the qr was left in the from wheel and no bubble wrap used around the tubing. The guy seems decent.

I second this, it does sound like a 'whoops, I got caught out, sorry mate' kinda payment.
Edit: Having seen your reply I think I and Mikkel are probably being cynical. eBaying bikes has that effect.

It is superficial, annoying though. Keeping the bike, the seller gave me £100 off.
