Blimey.

Have to admit to saying (whilst the giro was on with J Milan et al) I didn’t think he would win a TDF stage this year, although obviously hoped he would, but once it was underway and I saw the sprinters line up and how Astana were really going all-out just for Mark my opinion changed and the Obama style belief kicked in.
It’ll be interesting to see how much more he wants to do because why not try for another stage?

I too hold my hands up in thinking there was no way he was going to get a stage. It interesting to see philipsen try for the intermediary sprint and 'only' get 4th. Then pederson crashed and the starts aligned. Would be cool to see milan racing too.

Life is sweet. Nancy just finished second year of university, and is home working for me as a barista. Fucking hipster.

TBH anyone working at NOA's on a saturday is putting a shift in.

Exactly - and the prospect now the weight's off his shoulders of bowing out with the final stage win in Nice in his final tour... too perfect for words!
-
• #786
I’d be impressed if he won a (very) hilly time trial to bow out of the Tour.
-
• #787
I think it was rather selfish of Cav to take the attention away from the rider who bunnyhopped the guy that crashed! 😉
-
• #788
Ah, yes fair point hadn't realised it's not the typical format and style of finale!

A film about the life of Cav coming out next year. Starring that fellow who plays The Deep in “The Boys”. YHIHF

True facts

How come Ser Cav gets to wear a natty white helmet while the rest of the team are in Kazakh 'celeste'? Aren't there UCI rules about this kind of thing? I get that it makes him easier to spot in a bunch for his team, but if it were that easy wouldn't all the teams have sprinters in unique colours?

Energy drinks innit… wout wears a red bull helmet…
-
• #793
Oh I see - so the white is the Monster equivalent of the "coveted" Red Bull headwear. A prime opportunity for the other sprinters to tie-in with some of the non-captured energy drink brands. Jasper p/b Prime? A Groenewegen x Tenzig collab?

He’s going to be on BBC Breakfast later this morning. Will he announce his Strictly appearance then I wonder?

A pro cyclist in semi-decent formal get-up shocker.

Shame it's all spoiled by those silly plastic watches

The thought of a classic Cav outburst at the strictly judges really tickles me. I can just picture it now. Maybe that sort of flouncing would be a good fit for the genre perhaps.

...the shoes/trousers though..

Retirement announced. One final race.

And he won his last race! What are the chances?

Pretty high, as I imagine it was staged
The Manx coming out the woodwork in force tonight. Deservedly so.
