As shit as it is we have so many issues right now, that using up all your political capital on rejoin (assuming they have much political capital) is a fools errand.
We shouldn't have had a referendum. We shouldn't have voted leave. We shouldn't have triggered article 50. But we are where we are now. If we can build a solid industrial strategy, rebalance the economy - geographically and sectoraly, then we can make inroads into the factors that caused Brexit.
