I imagine if you declare somewhere ‘safe’ then you’re saying it’s the same as it going through the letterbox. I don’t do that for that reason.
Often I’ll get a courier note that’s it been left in a safe place, with a pic behind a bin/shrub etc, but I’d be fairly confident their view of that wouldn’t hold water if it was nicked
