Seems so. It's a bit shonky that a crash in the 5km can't affect times, but can affect the jersey. Not that Pog cares, but for sponsors etc can have an impact.

Problem with EF getting the jersey is they won’t control it as well they’re EF so I guess it’s actually not a problem and we will have another fireworks stage soon.

On paper tomorrow should suit Vingegaard, reports of whose death were exaggerated. Long climbs, high altitude, hot. Nobody races on paper though, it should be great.

I had almost exactly the same crash injuries as Vingegaard, except I broke a shoulderblade not a collarbone. Three days in intensive care, back in the pub seven days after the crash, on the bike in 4 weeks, racing in 8. This is why I suspected that he would make it to the Tour in some sort of form. So far he has been able to follow Pogacar with (apparent) ease, we'll know much better tomorrow.

Quick downhill to the first climb which is hard enough to be selective, the quick descent down into Briancon, the long drag up to Lautaret then the main event.

It's going to be carnage. Sprinters teams must be worried about it in particular.
