It wasn't always the plan. The amount of bad development was massively increased once Johnson became Mayor. The area the sign was that J0nathan posted is about was meant to remain open and to accommodate more of the Velopark. This was greatly reduced once the Tories had taken over. I remember meetings where it was hotly denied that there would be more housing. The Eastway Users' Group called it out as lies then, and lies it was.
