I am not sure, guess it’s more due to having this frame since 2021 now and feelin I need a change with the lure of Carbon being strong!

I personally found that I enjoyed riding a lighter bike more when off-road. Felt more chuckable™

Feel that it’s time to try carbon or even Ti from steel, last few bikes have been steel based.
So wondering is the Salsa going to be worth it or should I go to Enve but not seeing a Ti frame could through it all out!

This is a decent route too, rode it back in April

Thanks again. Did this this morning, with a couple of revisions to include a bit of extra Delamere, including 3 of the 5 blue sections. Was v fun.Unfortunately my revisions accidentally cut out the Kelsall cycles cafe stop, which I did not realise until I was well past being able to remedy the mistake. I was v much looking forward to coffee and cake and a bottle refill at that point. Had to make do with a snickers and a bottle of lucozade sport from some newsagents in christleton. D’oh.

Looks good, thanks!

My missus has ridden Bokeh quite a bit now (finished El Piri on it and Gran Vertical and done some touring). I've ridden it too and I like it. I'd have one myself if I didn't already buy a Crux (that's still not finished). I reckon she needs wider bars on it but other than that it's fun. Had 650Bx47 for El Piri fitted.

Nice one, thanks for replying... hard to choose really as there's so much out there right now!

I like Mason stuff. I don't know what it is, but some of the little frame details just sit well with me. Some people on here think complained they're expensive but then you have people riding 80s MTBs and others on S-Works and Cervelo in UK slop and I'm like "dafuq?" so it depends what floats your boat. It's your money end of the day.

Agreed, they do look very good... I like the idea of buying British... even if they are made in Italy ;) I think it'll come down to sizing in the end, whichever suits me with reach and stack... I don't think they're expensive considering the material and being handmade

This is serious, we appear to be in agreement on something.
Dafuq seems very appropriate.

If it helps decide, I’m v local to Mason and can confirm they’re all really lovely people

Run to the hills! End of days.
Longer term I still think I'm going to end up with two 29ers for us to do almost anything "off road" and the gravel bikes will be basically road bikes that might do the odd bit of champagne gravel. So, now just looking for something a bit lighter and more nimble than the Stanton, like the new Mason or Fairlight hardtail...

This is the end game. Road bike pitlocked to the turbo.
Rigid carbon-fork steel 29er w. single speed option (not sure how to get this done on my Holt without a tensioner).
Carbon 120mm full sus 29er.
45c drop bar Arkrux.
Road/Turbo bike.

We basically have the same collection. I just have all my old bikes scattered around other countries too. :)
I wouldn't bother with singlespeed MTB though I do often wonder why I even bother with drivetrains at all on MTBs when I'm just walking everywhere.
My TT bike is on the turbo and I still have a few road bike options though longer term the Mason might end up replaced with the Crux if I like it enough. It's still not built though :D

Dude, just build the crux already

Turns out Di2 compatible bars, doesn't mean 11s Di2 compatible bars. Which dickhead decided to stop putting the cable holes in the bars because the shifters supported wireless?
Anyway since my Mason is in Portugal for the forseeable, if I do recover in time to ride Italy 1600k I'll almost certainly be using the Crux with fat tyres to try and reduce the impact on my collarbone and ribs.

It's the fault of the secretive New SRAM Order

Pro something or other, maybe Carbon PRO PLT

Aka all handlebars more than 15 years old then

They're new. Drill time...
Thanks, I'll give that a shot when the bike is finished.
