  • It may also be the case that they weren’t fully paid for and thus have put Mercian in this position.

  • There was a row of primered new frames with spec tickets on sat to one side. They didn't appear in the listings as far as I can see

  • This is really sad…….

There were many bikes that I wanted, all British lightweights, but a Mercian was second on my list……hetchins was number one, that’s how high ( in my opinion) I rate them……so sad

  • This beauty outside Kick back coffee on the Brickworks.

  • Cloth bar tape and crabon wheels, nice mix of old and new.

  • Looks like Mercian have been saved.

    Much CHEERING in chez Doubtful!

  • Just saw the news on road.cc I'm very happy.

  • whoop! 🙌

  • fingers crossed for them, that they can make it work!

  • Good news ! Hope it works out.

  • As a local, wondering who this group of keen local moneyed cyclists are. Huub people? Sir Dave?

  • Sir Paul?

  • Of Nottingham?

  • Yes - he has done stuff with Mercian. Nottingham’s not far away!

  • My brother just crashed his Mercian today. Thankfully he’s ok but the frame is not.
He’s looking for something to replace it (doesn’t need to be another Mercian)
I’ve started a wanted threaded but thought I’d ask here too, if anyone has something suitable?

  • That's a shitter. You wouldn't think a Lime bike could do so much damage

  • I’m not sure exactly what happened 🤷

  • I have a mercian frame for sale here if anyone is looking for something nice.

  • Turns out you can’t reply to your own posts, anyway,

  • Treated myself to a Mercian (which I don't need). Built in my home town and I will own one in my size one day. 6 hour round drive to get this one and that was meeting the seller halfway. Sold as c24.6 inches and that's about right for the seat tube, but the top tube is 57cm, which is shorter than I need and was expecting. It was a custom build for the seller in 1993. He was 6ft, I'm 6ft4. Felt a bit small riding it round the car park but didn't have a tape. Annoying!! It is such a beautiful frame - pro lugless model. Change the stem and see?

  • Beaut. Older bars have longer reach so a nice stiff (for a quill) 130 stem should sort you out fine?

  • 57cm top tube you say? Custom built for someone about six foot you say?

Sounds like the right sort of size to me ...

  • Yep, I think I am going to need to move it on. Are you interested? The frame is beautiful and absolutely mint.

  • Finally had the gearing sorted out on my Mercian MTB, a little bimble round town, now of something more rural!
