I haven't read the Telegraph article, for obvious reasons, but apparently the opinion in question dates back to 1987. And while I'm no expert on the ECHR, I have been required to deal with ECHR arguments in the course of my professional practice, and I'd say it's obviously complete bollocks. To use the technical legal terminology.

Got to love an up to date, fresh as opinion (Pannick’s not yours!), The Telegraph are smashing it, just need to wait for Allister Heath’s hot take to be the catalyst for Alison Pearson to drop some pearls

You're right of course.
I meant the borough of Croydon includes lots of actually quite nice places, Coulsdon being one. Addiscombe ok, my geography ain't great. Bits of Purley are nice too.

Big up to the NoCro massive.

The idea that the supreme court could rule that an act of parliament is unlawful (which is what the school VAT thing will become) is deeply undemocratic.

I just looked up said racist twat as I'm semi local. Turns out he lives just down the road. Makes sense now why a load of reform boards have sprung up locally just on roadside verges.
He doesn't actually live where his bio on the reform website says he does. It says he lives in Denby, which he likely thinks sounds posher and better known than the village he actually lives in. What a tosser!

In 2021, it was reported that Mandelson had been advising Labour leader Keir Starmer on moving the party beyond Corbyn's leadership and broadening its electoral appeal.
It probably aligned then.

“Nigel Farage has claimed that he has ‘done more to drive the far-right out of British politics >than anybody else alive’.”
Apart from that being nonsense, he has surely brought lots of far right supporters into British politics. Although some Conservative Party candidates might say that they were there already?

It’s pretty spectacular that it took one covert journalist to out Reform for what they are. BNP/NF with a different acronym. Farage should be banned from politics for the rest of his life.

Fiona Bruce reads off a list of rude and cruel remarks made by Reform candidates
Nigel Farage, "I don't know any of them"
Fiona Bruce, "Why are you still standing them?"
Nigel Farage, "Every party has problems in a snap election.. We paid a vetting company £144,000 to vet our candidates, they didn't do it"
(The vetting company doesn't vet, it provides a service that you have to use yourself to vet.. That's like buying and oven and complaining the oven didn't cook your dinner for you)
Fiona Bruce, "That's not the question I'm asking.. These comments by your candidates have been widely reported.. You don't need a vetting company.. Why are they still standing?"
Nigel Farage, "I inherited a start up party"
Fiona Bruce, "Why are they still standing?"
Nigel Farage, "They're not, they've been disowned"
Fiona Bruce, "Why are they still your candidates?"
Nigel Farage, "I have no idea"
Fiona Bruce, "You are leader"
Nigel Farage, "I wasn't, I wasn't"
Fiona Bruce, "You are now"
Nigel Farage, "I inherited this, it was a start up party.. I paid a vetting company.. The work wasn't done"
Fiona Bruce, "Now that I've pointed this out to you, are you going to withdraw your support from these people?"
Nigel Farage, "I wouldn't want anything to do with them"
Fiona Bruce, "So you have now withdrawn your support from these people?"
Nigel Farage, "Yes, I want nothing to do with them"
End quote.
The bloke to whom the the beeb have donated millions of pounds of publicity turns out to be a blatherin halfwit with no serious answers.

It's taken this long for anyone to actually challenge Farage on anything. It's ridiculous.

It is high time that the media did some 'due diligence' on Nigel Falange.
Part of his self manufactured image of himself is as an anti establishment candidate. Privately educated and a stockbroker is the reality. He is little more than a racist gobshite and grifter. Half the time I wonder if he actually believes any of this guff he spouts or is it just to wind people up?
I hope that he gets challenged fully in the final days of the campaign. -

The readership of Mail online is huge - it's the most visited English language newspaper website in the world. And I'm sure widely read by exactly the demographics they're trying to reach.
South Croydon is not a borough, and if it was, it wouldn't include Addiscombe, which is North East Croydon.
