Didn’t get in into London either. Have an entry for Manchester but wife’s cousin is signed up to Copenhagen in may so might ditch Manchester in favour of joining him

Bit of an odd one buy I'm looking to replace some laces in a few pair of running shoes which have really shit laces. Is there a recommended brand/supplier?

Would anyone be interested in a brand new Garmin 945 for £200?

945 non-LTE doesn’t have Training Readiness and Race Calendar, does it?

@Tenderloin - bought one brand new a couple of weeks ago and it's still BNIB as wife decided it wasn't what she wanted. I'd also potentially be interested in your 945 as I'm looking for a running watch, but would need to read up on it.

Through various mixups I had a faulty garmin they were going to refund me the difference didn’t, I forgot and now they say I can buy another for £135. £200 about covers the difference for me (£70) so thought if someone fancied a bargain 945 I’d offer it here. Otherwise I’ll have it as a spare.
FYI it’s a recertified model but still cheap for £200

Pretty sure it’s the regular 945 so no

17.57 at Parkrun. Conditions were perfect, cool, still, drizzle.
Very happy, hadn't realised my last sub 18 was in 2019.
Was wearing Magic Speed not Meta Speed and it was a tank emptying effort.

impressive times on here. I used to do the Serpentine Last Friday of the Month lunchtime 5ks round Hyde Park. There were 2 waves - sub or plus 21. I either joined the deluded at the back of the first wave, or the aspirational at the front of the second. It was less crowded.

After a decent first 800m a couple of weeks ago, had a crack at 200m in the Vets last night. Turned up to find I’d been bumped into the A race as the normal guy had a twinge.
First time using the blocks to start. Got out slowly and found myself immediately in last place going round the curve. Found my stride on the straight and closed down a couple of people toward the end, sneaking past 2 on the line in 26.2s
Bit of a departure from the usual triathlon stuff, but happy with the showing.
Did 1500m later too but got caught up in a slower group and ended up about 15-20s off what I probably should have done. -

Jackets, state yer jackets.
I am almost dry now after running tonight. My Terrex jacket has died a death so looking for an alternative, this was waterproof and not a bin bag sweat fest buts it’s 6? Months old and no longer working.
What’s everyone wearing on wet days?
-
• #30617
Base layer, t-shirt on top. Shorts, socks and shoes. And a hat. I would wear arm warmers if it's cold enough.
I think that if it's raining you're going to get wet, coat or no coat, and no coat means one less thing to wash or dry at the end.
Meanwhile in ankle news, the steroid injection has well and truly worn off and my ankle kills again. Ho hum.

What’s everyone wearing on wet days?
A vest, obviously. You’re going to have a shower after no matter what, and it’s the middle of summer so why wear half your wardrobe?
-
• #30619
Because it’s 11 degrees where I am? It’s fucking cold.
-
• #30620
I suppose it depends on how fast/hard you're running, but personally 11deg is t shirt weather for me 🤷♀️

Shots fired.
No, I am not the warmest human alive despite my love of short shorts. Plus I’m currently for the next while in the most northerly town in Scotland where it rains sideways and 11 degrees feels distinctly less.
I just desire a jacket to keep water out mostly so I don’t die from exposure.
Also a big Z2 guy and will not be shamed for it.
-
• #30622
Oh no shots from me! I'm mostly Z2 these days, but still sweat like a pig. Personally I'd rather that sweat evaporate rather than just get trapped in a jacket

The Soar ultra jacket was the best reviewed when I was looking into getting something for an ultra Im running next year and where a proper rain jacket might be useful

After a month or so of rowing and skierg, given that it's both independence day and GE day and it was a bright sunny morning I decided to try and complete 5km row, skierg and run today. I went for row first as thought if I could hold close to 19mins then I'd have a chance of completing it. In hindsight yesterdays rowing interval session was a mistake and after 2km I was feeling cooked. Got it done in 19:16 but was wrecked.
Next up skierg previous best was 22:10 so wasn't feeling too hopeful of getting sub 22 I could barely hold the handles for the last 1km as i was sweating but managed to get it done in 21:35.
Having not been running much over the last 6 weeks wasn't hopeful of getting a pb in the 5km (this was done on the treadmill so doesnt count) but after a bit of a warm up was able to nail an 18:39 5km. Meaning I scraped in at 59:30.
There's no records in the concept logbook for multiple events but that gets me 106th in the world this year for the row and 24th in the skierg for my age group - I'd be nowhere on the run.still pretty pleased with that!
What it was
Current pb's
run 19:40
rower 19:08
Skierg 22:09
