I need help, again, in resisting making a matchy matchy blue cock up.

Inspired by the amazing Cannondale Tourer build on here, I am thinking about fitting Middleburn Cable Oilers.

They come in a rather lovely anodised blue finish, as well as the more obvious silver or black:

What are the benefits of cable oilers?

Pointless product IMO for a non existing problem.
I cannot see why there is a need to oil or clean inner cables as they are protected by the outer cable and who removes inner cables when servicing a bike ?

Empirical, yet admittedly anecdotal, experience tells me that perfect shifting derailleurs become imperfect derailleurs, usually after nasty weather.

If these help alleviate that by the easy application of GT85, then great.

They're from a time before coated cables. You do not need those anymore if your cables are Teflon or PTFE coated.

But ignoring that... Blue.

Would need matching tyres tho....
