  • I think it might make the rate more predictable but I can’t guarantee how much it’ll improve it by. I reckon it’s worth a try though! I definitely have a few Seiko 5s where the rate is easily something like 15 s/d different between dial up and crown up overnight.

  • Morning all. Happy fuck-knows-what-day-it-is day.

I can happily confirm that this Timex does not tick louder than your nans grandfather clock.

  • Some quite cheap Yemas in their end of line sale including the Urban Field watches which I think are quite attractive -

£500ish for a nice looking watch on a nice looking bracelet with an SW210 seems pretty good to me.

  • Remarkable NOS 62MAS, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in this condition - https://www.thetokeiclub.jp/product-page/seiko-diver-62mas-6217-8001-big-crown

About £12.5k which I’m quite sure someone (ie a Japanese collector) will pay.

  • That is a beauty (but not as nice as that stunning table though) and I'd never have though that I'd ask for more writing on a watch face, but it looks empty !? Could you please share the model/name of that one.

  • Interesting! I really like these 2 models

  • The table exudes class and history... Not bulk buy buffet breakfasts...

Thanks, appreciate it: The watch is a Timex x James Brand collab

I think the biggest challenge for most is the size being a perfect 41mm diameter

I've been wearing it for work and I've really grown fond of it. It's very subtle with some pops of limo yellow (apparently a James Brand thing). But it's superbly made and everything is crisp. I wasn't certain of it when it arrived as everything on it felt small: I think it's the numbered chapter ring... In the press photos it's very prominent but in real Life it's much smaller. But now that's grown on me.

  • Pricing/selling advice please. A mate has a 2015 Daytona white APH 116520 stickered unworn bought from a dealer I know a couple of years ago for 25k but he'd like to sell trying to get his money back. I think he'll be lucky. Are these still worth 20k? C24 and Ebay show £24-30k for unworn sets still which surprised me as I expected lower but I don't know the significance of the APH variant and how much value that adds? @ejay2.0 is this your wheelhouse?

  • That's the model with white dial. I was looking at UK listings only all unworn. I thought the prices were high but asking and selling prices aren't always the same. Also how much less than that for selling to a dealer? He's trying to get his money back and I thought the market fucked but I don't know much about watches. Pic of it yesterday they do nothing for me whatsoever

  • Me neither. The bezel is so horrible.

  • I try to steer clear of this sort of thing.
Find the right person looking for an unworn/stickered from that year and it could do £25k easy.
Just need to find the right person.
I have never “got” the Daytona in any of its guises.

  • Try a couple or so dealers. They'll probably offer you the same ish price for it. Then you'll know.

If he has to sell he has to sell... If he can wait, ppl are dumb and prices on daytonas will go up unfortunately.

Also, watches are not an investment. If he'd bought an Oris would he expect to get what he put in?

  • Happy Friday folks!

New strap giving strong Mr Blobby vibes.

  • Do the well known dealers sell on commission ? I assume you would get a better deal if they don't have to buy the watch into stock.

  • Morning all

Happy Friday 🙂 what ever you do today /this weekend, knock it out of the park

  • I think anyone that has a nearly 10 year old watch that they don't even like and is still covered in cellophane. They probably bought it as an investment. He wanted to hold on to it much longer term but needs the money for something much more sensible. Not good timing for selling so he's trying to limit his losses. If he asked me to recommend a watch for a couple of grand to wear regularly I'd say have a look at something like an Oris in the sales. I hate the idea of investment watches. I dislike this model anyway but all that bollocks that often goes with buying a Rolex even puts me off the couple of models I do like.

  • Many do and yes. I expect many will take it on the off chance as it won't cost them anything to try it in their window for a month so just need to find a dealer that has regular customers for these kind of watches.

  • Happy Friday people

  • This is excellent with the orange markers.

  • On the daytona chat I never got it until I saw one irl on a wrist. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the price is proportionate, but it is a really nice sports chrono.

  • Happy Friday all
