No problem - I don't want to hijack this thread, maybe easier if people DM me instead? Happy to start a proper sales thread but as I'm unlikely to ship it's limited in scope

Hi, was recommended to post here - I'll be staying in berlin for the last two weeks of July and wonder if anyone could recommend somewhere to hire a nice bike?
Also up for renting from a member of the community directly if they are happy to, im cool arranging collecting and returning, giving cash deposit type of thing if the owner would like.
The hotel Im staying has assured me they have a secure place to keep a bike, and if I'm not convinced by the security I'll keep it in my room. Will mostly be visiting touristy places during the day so won't be leaving it locked outside overnight anywhere.
Not necessarily after some super sweet tarck bike or high end road / gravel type thing, as it'll just be for cruising about, but something a bit nicer than the usual clunky hybrids that are typically offered by bike rental places. E.g. last summer I stayed in Vienna and a bike shop owner lent me his fixed gravel cruiser bike type thing which was a ton of fun.
Thanks!

CROW Cyclery are lovely folks, all of them. They rent, as do quite a few shops, through the Listnride platform – here's their online shop: https://www.listnride.com/users/33944

I am leaving on the 12th of july for a week, so if you arrive before that and want to borrow my very boring froschrad you can have it.
Not actually inspired riding, but the perfect a to b machine. And you'll blend in.

Hiring a couple of bikes from List Bike (love the service) for me and gf.
Interested on suggestions for rides out to some nice green spaces/lakes (hoping for good weather) - with a mix of riding and chilling (not looking for an all day sufferfest). I'm a confident cyclist but gf is somewhat less so...so prefer routes that don't involve major roads.
Picking up bikes from Crow Cyclery (Kreuzberg) but we should be good for an afternoon out.
Thoughts on where to go and how to get there gratefully received

Where will you stay?
What kind of Kms are you looking for?
Others probably better with recreational routes, but definitely go to Grunewald. Include spy station famous Teufelsberg (steep trails), naked people/guy chasing boar famous Teufelssee, and then go on to Havelberg (fun trails). I think Schwanenwerder is also nice.
Haus am Waldsee and Brücke Museum are both really nice in that direction. -

Thanks for suggestions @c.h.e.
We're staying in Neukoln although bike pick up / drop off from Kreuzberg
Figure under 50kms is about right (it's definitely going to be party pace)
I might give Teufelsberg a miss as I made it last time i visited (although i did enjoy jumping over the fence) but Teufelssee sounds like a blast
Havelberg likely to be too far for the pair of us without train use
Schwanenwerder looks like a good call
Looking in to Haus am Waldsee and Brücke Museum -

Havelberg, a little bump in Grunewald, not the town in Sachsen!

In a stroke of coincidence of not a big coincidence the owner of this bicycle pulled up next to me whilst drinking a beer at the bellybutton of the world Reuterplatz.
It's a 650b conversion and we got to talk bieks and specifically 26" 90s Giants because I had my Cadex with me on the occasion. How small a world.

I had them but didn't really like them because you still get only one real extra bar position. Sold them to a guy who is now likely sporting them on his omnium touring somewhere on the other side of the world so a worthy cause.
I am now using the method from Marcel @Sig_Arlecchino to use real bar ends. Cheaper, and you get at least two extra positions. Also extra loading points if in a pickle. Will show you next time when we meet up!

Schwanenwerder looks like a good call
Looking in to Haus am Waldsee and Brücke MuseumGood calls!
It's on the way to Potsdam which is about 35km one way.
But you could do that, then turn right after the bridge to Potsdam at Wannsee and follow the water on the Brandenburg side ending up in Spandau. Then from there then U7 if you're so inclined which takes you back to Hmannplatz/Rathaus Neukölln/Karl Marx Straße Neukölln way. A bike ticket costs 2,50 or thereabouts. Saves you the slog and 30ish km back to NK. -

Seeing that there so much summertime activity here, let's float the idea of a LFGSS Berlin get-together? Somewhere in August with easy ride into the green towards a lake or something?
I am quite flexible, I stay in Berlin during summer because summer in Berlin.
