Shortening sleeves can be done the easy way from the bottom or the hard way from the shoulder. The second is much more labourous. I reckon they'll do it the hard but good way.

They did a good job on a suit for me years ago.
Although that was more like £70 for a load of stuff - shoulders, waist, trousers in. Prices have really changed!

Berkhamsted
Straight to golf club!
Cheers tho. Not close, but not far, and we meet people there so maybe I should time a play date for a Sat and take a load of stuff.
Not sure how pulling my trousers up makes the jacket shorter in relation to my arms.
Tbh I'm really regretting it now and pretty nervous about how it'll turn out in relation to the external pockets. Still the suit was £25 and the trouser fit, just about, so £100 all in for a linen suit is fine.

If that was offered in more than white I’d be all over it. Much like the day to day detritus seems to be on my T’s these days.

Fair comment, Berko is pretty cunt-tastic but we don't live there so not guilty!
Not sure how pulling my trousers up makes the jacket shorter in relation to my arms.
I thought you meant having the bottom of the jacket raised. Even if you're showing an extra bit of shirt cuff it'll be fine.

I need to buy a formal white shirt for a work event (summer party at the V&A). Wearing it with a navy suit. Looking for something light weight / thin material, slim fit. I don't want a silly collar or anything shiny. I need to get it delivered by Tuesday. Where should I buy from?

I always have enjoyed Charles Tyrwhitt shirts.
Nothing spectacular and they fit me well.

Anglo Italian will fit the bill
Richard James will have a selection
Many of the large fashion portals will have next day delivery but personally I’d go in and get one -
• #5516
I should probably force myself to go into town. Anglo Italian shirts are all a bit heavy I think for what I want. Looks like Natalino have decent poplin shirts.
-
• #5517
Ah I thought they did a few poplin options. Richard James also worth a look in if you do go to town too
-
• #5518
I'd probably just go somewhere where there are a couple in a row if you've got something particular in mind. City, CW, Jermyn st would be best.
TM Lewins have plenty of options. I think G&H are nicer, and always used to like Pinks. But it's been ages since I bought anything other than TML or CT shirts
Actually, just checking TML have next day p&p for £8. So just order a few white shirts in different materials and fit in your size.

Any ideas on somewhere to get something similar to this, but cheaper? More than happy to pay for ethical production etc - in fact, won't buy anything that isn't - but £135 is steeeep.

Sounds fairly inexpensive for fairly made trousers.
-
• #5522
Seems a bit dubious to charge £135 for plain linen trousers made in India when trousers made in the UK can be bought cheaper.
Doesn't fair trade usually mean keeping the producers in perpetual poverty, like with coffee and
chocolate? -

Emiko Studios might be worth a look; made (to order) from their Stockport mill; can request slight adjustments.

Ebay + tailor (if needed).
Environmental cost is already born and you contribute to the local economy.

My wife has upgraded my wardrobe as my 50th birthday present with a load of Vollebak clothing. It is rather wonderful and totally over the top in terms of the copy describing the garments but they are all quite discrete (except the copper jacket which shimmers like an 80s disco video special effect)
Where? That's good value.
I'm paying £70 for sleeves and the bottom of the jacket to be shortened. Think I was up sold on shortening the jacket and I'm a bit worried about it tbh.
