  • Miss mine, sold it for a song a few years ago when the market dipped - should have kept hold of it!

  • The market seems to have dipped again no ? Worth a try getting another

  • Looks at my 49cm mash parallax gathering dust after the foot overlap freaked me out one time too many in traffic. Thinking of trading for a steam roller f&f in the same tiny size. Great idea or just silly?

  • Why would it be silly? The steamroller does have less toe overlap

  • Having owned a steam roller and now steel vigorelli/Njs frame build (Bomber Pro), I have a valid opinion to share... The Surly was brilliant for commuting duties with the ability to fit large tires 700x38c without room for fenders for a tight fit.. biggest down side to running fatty tires is the compromised acceleration but if comfort is king you will love it... I much prefer tighter handling and less drag from narrow tires in the meantime.

  • I rode my works this morning. It’s still my favourite bike.

  • Wheelbase 921 on the mash vs rollers 965mm wheelsbase = less overlap because the wheels are further apart? I might be wrong.

  • I think the ability to roll over giant potholes and change direction quickly at super low speeds without wondering what side of the wheel my foot might be on is driving this… Mash seems superfluous.

  • I meant the steam roller has less toe overlap,so if that is the issue with the mash it might be a good replacement

  • I've PM'd you - as per my post at the top of the page!

  • I feel you on the overlap problem at low speed but that is half the fun. I agree the mash would do for anything you can throw at it. Here's my steel vigorelli in wall hanger mode until this Friday... Will be it's maiden Critical mass voyage. Bike Rights!

  • The more I stare at it the closer I get to mounting front brakes and doing further distance. Very inspiring setup.

  • Yes exactly, the snappy feeling of a tight geo is what makes a track bike fun for me

  • Very nice! Are you not tempted by the comfort of some road levers /hoods?

  • No not really, I’m not a fan of the way they look on a fixed. I don’t really buy into this road fixed thing.

I’ve got 5 all set up the same way, same bars, stem and cross leaver. There all fine on rides of up to 100miles, anything more than that and I’m on gears these days.

  • Tarck bike. I also spotted another ac-2 in orange 🍊 in east ldn today!
