You're right about full integration - nightmare for the home builder

Building the R5 with complete full integration was probably the most frustrating experience of building any bike ever.
Only thing potentially worse was a fully mechanical rim brake Trek Madone when they first did their space shit integrated version that despite building in a full workshop was absolutely harrowing and took about 8h. The brakes on those things were useless and they rode miserably.

Realise that said space shit rather than space ship but probably more relevant.
