• If we consider a future wherein I have a job again then I’d like to get a vehicle to leave in the UK for use when I’m in the UK/Europe - and I’ve come to the conclusion that a van type vehicle is the most practical for me, largely due to being able to keep bikes inside, plus tools and so on, plus of course my stuff.

It would however be desirable to be able to sleep in said van if/when required, so a pop-top bed would be nice. I’m thinking along the lines of a VW California Beach. But I don’t want to pay £!, and they all seem to have stuck at their Covid adjusted price.

So - is there a reckoning coming? Or are the new values the new normal?

  • Get a van and a pop top kit? So much cheaper than a fully built camper. Do you really need a dining table for 4, a kitchen, bathroom, electrics and insulation? You could fit bits and bobs yourself, as and when.

There are blogs and podcasts speculating about values. I've not seen a forecast of a crash. WFH doesn't seem to be declining. Are there lots of office workers doing WFH from a camper?

Parking a camper is getting harder. Some council car parks have 5 metre limits.
