Have you had a look at subsidies etc? I'm attending a "cargo bike showcase" in Hammersmith on Friday to promote take up of cargo bikes. The council are pushing a scheme by an organisation called MP Smarter travel that offer up to £2k off the purchase of a cargo bike. Might be worth looking in to if you haven't already, whichever bike you decide to go for.
Also, it looks like Paradise Cycles have the Bullitt X in stock for £3,099.

Yeah thanks. I know a few of the folks at MP smarter travel and there are some local grants here too, but from what I've heard it's a long slow process.
Very much early exploratory stages. Just find it hard to drop anything over £1000 on a bicycle (or anything for that matter). Which I think coincidentally matches my expense on a omnium nearly a decade ago.

Sorry to sidetrack. Curious about this showcase in the borough as we have two cargo bikes working in the borough at least one of which we paid a lot of with a grant or similar.
