Bar tape is sad. I always use the extra bit behind Ergos, because the lever body is fairly tall where it meets the bars.
Since the internal routing of that brake cable was an arse, I am not minded to redo it!
You just need a length of sleeve - slip it over the end of the cable, pull the cable out with the sleeve on it, bam.

To be fair we reused the existing bar tape so maybe no extra piece available.
But could have just used any old black tape ...
It will get fixed next time I wrap.
As for the brake cable, I am not sure that works due to the size of the entry points.
By "sleeve" do you mean super thin tubing that just encases the cable?
Anyway, no more work on it before going out for a fifty mile maiden voyage today.
EPS (first) installation done.
Went with helicopter tape and heat shrink tubes, with addition of electrical tape and cable spirals where necessary.
The cockpit is busy and pretty awful, but I will live with it for now. (It is quite limited by a cock up of threading the rear brake outer through the wrong pair of EPS cables going to the junction box. Since the internal routing of that brake cable was an arse, I am not minded to redo it!)
The main thing is, it rides like a dream.
