  • There’s a few polls doing the rounds showing a possibility that the Lib Dems could be the official opposition. That sounds fantastic to me, hopefully pulling Labour in a more progressive direction, and making the Tories an irrelevance.

I do wonder how the press will behave if that happens though. Can’t really imagine them giving Lib Dems the same space in news coverage that the current two main parties get. I’d imagine it’d take quite an ideological adjustment…

  • It's probably totally biased and not backed up by any data, but by a long way the most signs I have seen outside properties in London is Lib dem signs, so that kind of makes sense.

When I have been outside London recently though, seems to be a lot more Labour signs. Probably just a bit of a bubble in London.

  • There would be almost no choice if the government and opposition were labour and the LD. The new centre of the political spectrum would be just about perfectly placed.

  • I think that when things settle, that tories will be way ahead of the LDs and reform as the opposition. They'll be smashed but probably get 150 seats rather than the extinction forecasts. That's my armchair psephology anyway.
