Went with helicopter tape and heat shrink tubes, with addition of electrical tape and cable spirals where necessary.
The cockpit is busy and pretty awful, but I will live with it for now. (It is quite limited by a cock up of threading the rear brake outer through the wrong pair of EPS cables going to the junction box. Since the internal routing of that brake cable was an arse, I am not minded to redo it!)
Not a bad result ! I think with time you can work on integrating the cables in a nicer fashion as you say its a bit busy, but if its all working as it should thats already a big win !
