might be worth checking they've not taken the wheel and hidden it out of sight hoping you leave the rest of the bike so they can go back for it later.
this happened to a mate of mine, the wheels were taken but just chucked over a wall into some bushes. -

Yeah, I was wise to that one - and frog-marched the remainder of the bike the half hour walk home :(
But good shout about the wheel, I'll check the surrounding area to see if they did hide it
So, yesterday the local scumbug bike thieves successfully managed to steal my front wheel off my bike that was in the cycle rack at my local train station.
I have reported the theft to British transport police but I won't hold my breath waiting for them to find the wheel or the thief (despite two CCTV cameras right next to the racks).
This is the second time they've had a go at having the bike away - the last time they removed one of the crank bolts but must've been disturbed as the cranks were still on when I got there.
The bike is an on-one in inbred (26") - and it's very nondescript. Plus I always try and put it next to a more expensive/new bike as a kind of deterrent.
I used to have a real beater (specialized langster) which was a lovely bike and it never got any attention from the scumbag thieves
So, I'm thinking it's time to sell on the inbred before it's completely stolen and get another beater.
All opinions or thoughts appreciated.
Cheers, Mike
