  • Lovely colour, I like the 2 speed, however the chain pusher's a bit of a ball ache in bad weather
    YMMV!

  • Yeah always the case, just ride it as a single speed and pray it is stuck on a fast rear cog to get home quicker.

  • For anyone attending BWC, I'll be on the Albion stand doing free repairs (any bike brand), more details below. Looking forward to seeing the racing, and the 500+ Bromptons around Coal Drops Yard;

    come and say hello! @HoKe are you racing? Let me know what time/heat if so!

  • Oh! If visiting, bring a lock, and be vigilant and aware of security. Definitely targeted/opportunist bike thefts last year :(

  • Excellent, yeah I’m gonna be there, granted my racing legs days are pretty over :(

    I’ll see you at the event - will be in the second heat.

  • Brompton chains, if I had to use a quick link to rejoin one, what spd is best? I've loads of different ones in my spares

  • 7-8 speed is the norm, but I would imagine any 3/32" quick links would do. You probably want a link that matches your chain though. @Belgian-Cat

  • Awesome , cheers pal

  • Mine came back from a service at SJS with a 7-8 speed sram quick link and has worked flawlessly.

  • Anyone have experience of mudguard roller wheels from AliExpress? Mines seized solid and I'm wondering if there's an upgrade that doesn't cost £35 from sjs

  • I got one of these from eBay recently. Took a couple of weeks to arrive. Only been on the bike a few days but seems fine.

    Didn’t come with fixings, so got a bag of 12mm (a little longer than ideal) M4 allen bolts and nuts. Got plenty of spares if you need.

  • No problem. @Belgian-Cat yeah the 'Brompton' chains are just SRAM PC8X0 chains, where X = 3, 5, 7 - don't remember which, but all work.

    I've also ended up with similar chains and have used KMC 8-speed chains and links. Also ran a single speed 3 3/2" before and the only issue with it was the quick link pins being too long and hitting the jockeys. The chain itself was fine.

    @crow ^

  • Yes, there are lots of bikes like this from brands like Mint, Afluen, Pikes. Just search for trifold bike.

  • i am selling my restrap brompton bag (black; like new) if anyone is looking (would also be interested in trading for something bigger).

    its just a bit too small for what I need and so its been barely used ...

  • Is it just me or has there been very little info on BWC this weekend? I've had one email saying I can register from 9 (although not when I need to be registered by) and what time my heat is but that's about it. The link just goes to the Eventbrite site which isn't particularly informative.

  • @aggi here’s some info from their Insta.

    Aren’t theses massive? What are you looking at which is bigger?

  • Cheers. I wonder what is happening between 2.15 and 4.

  • Good move and welcome!

  • Picked this little beauty up from Balfe’s yesterday. Properly good fun. Looking forward to doing a lot more zipping around town on it.

    Now to think about upgrades. Grips first I think. Roller rack to be installed on Monday.

  • the borough in large.

    restrap is more like medium borough bag.

  • Yep, comms was poor. Only got the course map on Thursday!

    It’s heaving here. I’m rider 71 if anyone spots me, dark lacquer H6L.

    Good luck to anybody riding!
