• Community Cycleworks (CCW) are hosting paid stand time in their container workshop for those who want to work on their bike but don't have the tools or space to do so. There are experienced mechanics onhand to help with queries, one to one, so you won't have to worry about waiting around for someone to ask.
Parts are available to buy, but we do not have extensive stock - there is a mix of new and secondhand parts, and we cover all the generic/common items: almost every inner tube size - Presta/Schrader, square taper bottom bracket, rim brake pads and B01S (equivalent) disc pads. If you want to enquire about parts, please email us at info@ccw.bike.

    Book for 25th June here

    17:30-19:30
    4x 30 min slots, at £12.50 each.

    More info:
This event is ideal for those who:

    • want to work or learn in an uninterrupted environment
    • have a bike project that they want to do, but no place/tools/mechanical help to do it
    • are preparing their bikes for an event (like a cycle tour) and want to do it themselves and understand what is happening to their bikes
    • and more!

Most industry tools are available including the infamous Rozone parts washer to get the stubborn London grime off your bike. Learn from our experienced mechanics and leave empowered knowing that you can fix it yourself.

Four slots are available for each session:

    Slot 1 - 17:30-18:00
    Slot 2 - 18:00-18:30
    Slot 3 - 18:30-19:00
    Slot 4 - 19:00-19:30

Two tickets are available for each slot - for two workstands and two mechanics, ideal if you want to be there with a friend.

If you want to book for the whole session, please book all four slots. We will ask you to vacate the workstand at the end of your slot if there is someone else booked in after you.

    Guidelines for common repairs:
Fixing things for the first time by yourself? Expect that it will take 3x longer than if an experienced mechanic does it (e.g. in the local bike shop). Using this, we estimate the following:

Puncture repair - 60-90 mins (this is dependent on your tyre/rim combo, e.g. Schwalbe Marathon Plus tend to be notorious for getting on and off!)

Brake pad change and adjustments - 60 mins
Brake adjustments only - 30 mins
Brake cable change (for ONE brake) - 30 mins

Gear cable change and minor adjustments - 30-60 mins
    Gear indexing - 60-90 mins
    Chain change - 30 mins
    Chain and cassette/freewheel change - 60 mins

    Bearings
Bottom bracket change - 60-90 mins
Wheel hub service (for ONE wheel) - 60 mins
Headset bearings change only - 60 mins
    Headset replacement - 60-90 mins

If you have any questions, please email info@ccw.bike.
