As well as being absolutely vile that red carpet video is terrible politics.
Reading through the X replies, it appears to have managed to annoy people who are anti-migrant as well as those who are sympathetic to the plight of refugees.
The former are pointing out that the Tories have basically been the party of the red carpet for the past decade, with their hotel accomodation, failure to stop the boats and the Rwanda débacle.
The latter are (rightly) horrified by the despicable video.
Nice one Tories, you really are very bad at this game. And are a flock of worst-cunts to boot.
