I have been in the Ruislip Specialized Concept store, in their previous 'shop' just a couple of units further down Ruislip High Street.
I did buy a cycling helmet when they used to have their trade in scheme.

What terminated our commercial relationship was when our son was a member of Slipstreamers and regularly cycling at the Minet Park, Southall track.

On returning from a Saturday morning session, we found one of his cleat bolts was missing. We had other stuff to do that afternoon, so he visited the Specialized store on his way home from school on the Monday, hoping that they would have a box of cleat bolts available for a contribution to the coffee/biscuit/beers kitty.
Oh, how wrong we were. No cleat bolts available not even at an outrageous mark up. However the shopworker did suggest buying a pair of carbon S-Works cleats, (which to be fair did include cleat bolts), for just £59.99. -

It is always possible that the move to the new, more spacious premises has tempered their avarice, and they probably do offer a suitable saddle sizing service, but I have not bought anything from them since 2016, instead buying replacement chains, cassettes, etc from either Decathlon, (Uxbridge or Ealing), or Woolsey of Acton.

As an aside. Emergency hack for this on spds is a brake rotor bolt, same pitch and you can usually get away with losing one of them. Someone showed us this when the wife lost a cleat bolt out in the middle of the wilds in a mtb race in South Africa

Thanks.
After an evening meal I'll recount my cleat bolt revenge on the Specialized empire. -

Are these guys legit? Wanting to order a part from them…
-
• #122441
Given they give you phone numbers and a physical address to contact them, my hunch is they are legit.
Didn’t Albion organise a couple of rides from Crystal Palace to The Archive (bike shop/cafe which is the address they give)? Would strongly indicate they are legit.

Yup! Revised opening hours till 2pm.
Today is the last day before the owner taking a 5 weeks break, will be back in late August/early September.
After that it's anyone's guess as they are behind on rent with the council and are currently negotiating (his words not mine).
Open since 1968 should be kept open!!!

Wow, it's amazing to see shops like that still going.

The owners are elderly and not in good health. A couple of years ago they tried to get some (family) young blood involved. My guess is that that possibly hasn't worked out. Their business never really picked up after the lockdowns.

He did say this too.
I mentioned I'll be back on his return and will see him again then.

do they specialise in left-hand thread screws?

They offer a lot of payment methods, including PayPal, I always take this as a good sign. Knowing that if you pay by PayPal you're pretty well protected as a buyer.
Dodgy sites never have PayPal as an option.

Not sure if serious...
They have pretty much everything from drill bits to ground anchor bolts.
Cash only though.
