Box construction is in my CP thread: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/331277/
It’s lockdown-spec Wickes plywood (ie really horrible quality ply) on an aluminium construction kit frame. It’s actually survived really well given it’s 3 years old. I thought it would look a lot worse than this by now. It comfortably holds 2 kids plus stuff with the Melia Toddler seat at one end. The kids absolutely love it and it swallows loads of stuff when it has to.

Has anyone updated the firmware on their shimano e6100? Someone on reddit has posted that gear changes are much smoother after the update?
Am I going to brick my bike if I update?

Am I going to brick my bike if I update?
Well, I updated, first time in the 2 and a half years I've had it. Bloody hell, what a difference, can't believe how smooth gear changes are now. I didn't think it was bad before but it's so much better now!

Does anyone know what the collapsible insulated boxes pedalme uses are?
I need to get something similar for work

Did you do this via the e-tube app?
-
• #13960
Yeah, I was amazed how easy it was.
Took about 20 mins, as it updated the shifters, the motor and something else, so don't do it when you're supposed to be taking your kid to the park like I did.

The De FietsFabriek thing was a licensed replica of the Kemper Filibus Plus. Kemper had invented some archetypes of cargo bikes like the Lorri, the Filibus and the Filibus Plus back in the mid 1990s and licensed them to some nl and danish producers like DeFietsFabriek, DutchId and Kronan.

..sturdy workhorses, similar to the classic vanAndel Bakfiets Shorty. -

Used to get them from a German supplier. I can't remember/find them now.

Love the idea of these, and they look well made. Though I would be worried about that thumb screw vibrating loose. Is there anything to stop that? Is it a through hole? I think I would prefer something like a safety lynch pin which would be quicker to operate and less likely to vibrate out.

I haven’t had a problem with it vibrating loose, and they require a fair amount of force to loosen off. I guess if you weren’t using it all the time and want to fit and forget you could simply replace with a screw fitting that gives you more peace of mind :-)

Raced it in the volunteers 1 lap dash yesterday evening. More like a 1 lap amble for me

Has anyone ridden a Bullitt X? Worth the extra over a standard Bullitt for the increased space? How does it compare in loading volume to a UA XL? Are there any plans to produce an electric version?
-
• #13973
I haven't seen it in person yet but it's in stock on their dealer site.
Oops it's also on the public site, https://www.larryvsharry.com/en/ebullittx-build

For what? If you're using it for deliveries then it might be worth it but if you're using it for kids then definitely not. They don't do any of the accessories for the large one so you'd need to get a custom box made and if you're gonna do that just do it for the standard and it'll be plenty big enough.

Would be for business usage, but 6k, whilst not surprising, is somewhat off putting.
Well I’m home alone this weekend so I’m interspersing watching Le Mans (and drinking beer) with some updates to the Long Harry. I took all the retro stuff off this and put it back on my mtb. It’s getting Avid V brakes and the 10-speed SRAM X7 I had on my GT Edge Aero.
