Probably watch bullshit, but I was trying to imply that a month's wages was spent on masturbatory aides or pornography on the wrist, as in having one "off the wrist". I suppose it could be that and a watch if that's your thing.

The take away for me was the fact it was one person talking about another’s watch. Like “oof that’s a bit expensive for me” - one man’s disposable income is another man’s fortune, I guess!

It could have been a clever play on words though.
