I was in Portugal for Euro 2004 and WC 2006 in Germany, not following England however, saw all of Italy's group games at both tournaments (gf at the time is Italian and it's so much easier to get tickets for Italy).
Had a great time at the games as well as at fan parks and generally around the host cities. Watching Germany play on a big screen at the Brandeberg Gate was epic. Definitely think i enjoyed it more but not being with the main group of England fans.

I was in Coevorden for the Brazil World Cup.
The town square after a Dutch win was electric. Free beer, big party bus, one hour of tomfoolery then everyone cleaned up and went home.
Still makes me smile.
