So my daughter is pretty in to Star Wars at the moment. We watched Asohka together and we’re in the last series of Mandalorian. She’s watched the OG films as well.
She’s also a voracious reader so I thought she might want to get stuck in to some of the many SW novels, but as I’ve not ready any myself I was wondering about suitability.
She’s 9 but can handle adult books, but obviously I’d rather avoid too much violence, sex etc :-)
Are there any young adult or youth oriented book series? -

That's one of those shit fake trailers.
Anyhoo, loving Bad Batch Season 3. Very much hoping for an old-man Crosshair and Omega live-action spin-off in the Mandalorian/Ashoka time period.

^ It passes the time...
^^ Bad Batch ending was good I hope there could be more of them still but the time hop suggests not, unless just Omega.

Discussing proper sad moments across all SW with my daughter:
Possible Spoilers click to see.
Mine is Kanan Jarras in rebels,My daughters is Tech in Bad Batch.
We re-watched Obi-Wan over the last few days and the farewell with Leia is also very sad, when she asks "will I ever see you again?", and he replies "maybe someday, if you ever need help from a tired old man." Then she hugs him & I'm pretty sure is wearing the gloves bought from the market during their first escape.
Any others worth revisiting?

I think it's the best of the Disney SW shows after Andor.

Having trouble taking Darth Mendoza seriously, tbh.

I did enjoy the lightsaber battles and the brutality in the most recent episode.
And maybe the Jason Mendoza thing helped with the reveal, as I did think he can’t pull off evil Sith. -

Vader walking down the street and randomly killing people, even that boy…while Kenobi hid.
Finally a real display of Darth Vader’s utter evil. -

How can they fight with those heavy cloaks?
How could that girl so easily subdue May and get her in cuffs? May killed a Master in the first episode.
A few quibbles but overall I enjoyed it. Especially the smug overconfident Jedi getting humiliated.

Aye, although that still leaves a lot of room to not be as good as Andor. Still, I finished each episode interested to see the next one, which was never true of Ahsoka and stopped being true of The Mandalorian.

Ok, The Acolyte.
A lot of SM outcry.
Episode 5. I was entertained.

Spaceships in the Disney Star Wars universe are stolen more often (and more easily) that bicyles in London.

The Acolyte is the worst SW thing I’ve ever seen.
Second only to The Rise Of Skywalker.Do better Disney ffs

I don't think it'll age very well, but as a brain off midweek show it was ok & it looks setup for more to come ft more Master Yoda which could be ace.

It had good actors and good characters (to a point, not sure about Bobby from sweet tooth turning up though) but just didn’t hit the mark somehow for me, felt like a lot of hard work just reiterating the same things over and over for 8 episodes.
Also I thought the colour of a lightsaber was determined by its crystal, but womans turned it red just by the force which is well sus.

I wasn't sure on that too, but it checks out on wookipedia

I do like the Jedi's are the baddies arc. It would be good to see if / how Master Yoda brings them back into favour.

So it does!

The crystal turns red when the user turns to the dark side.
Like I said, I've not watched the animated shows, but enjoyed Ashoka and didn't feel like I missed anything. You could kind of draw the lines between things yourself as it went along.
