Basically trying to recover what they paid for it, never going to happen!

@HoKe all about moar gears and this one would be 6 speed, so that suits me.
@mattspare ringing endorsement. Thanks.

Remind me for the nth time, why is normal/top cable-entry such a big deal on Brompton brakes, other than the fold?
-
• #15280
Think i need to clarify, but the seller image/bike who routed the front and rear brakes on separated side of the stem is not the ideal way due to when it is folded the cable housing is nicely bent away together. (If that makes sense).

Yeah got you, thanks.

I have recently become a Brompton owner, loving it so far.

I have an S2L with Ti forks and Triangle that I'm pondering putting an electric motor on- how bad an idea would it be to put a motor on the Titanium forks?
Maybe it's just the wrong bike to electrify. Not sure of the value of a Ti one- anyone fancy a swap with an Electric one?

• #15284
Hi there… I have some steel forks here if that would help.

Well, Cycle2Work voucher confirmed and delivered, now to figure out how the hell to use it with someone other than Halfords and get myself the P Line I’ve had my eye on.
-
• #15286
Should be straightforward enough. My C2W scheme was with Halfords , but the first thing they did was to point me at Compton Cycles - my nearest Brompton dealer.
ETA - Go to the Halfords link, and tell them you are looking for a Brompton. -
• #15287
Depends on which scheme your voucher is with, if its cycleschme(scam) then Brompton accepts it directly.

I said I would only ever have one bike and here we are ...I've doubled the number of bikes I own

It's a purple c line two speed

Sadly not Cyclescheme. Cycle2Work, but turns out Balfe take it and an order has been placed for a midnight black P Line Explore. Quite excited now.

Who’s coming along to cheer/heckle at coal drop yard for the BWC?

• #15293
I may be volunteering at the event :)

Did the school run and have city (non-congestion charge zone) errands. Made a last minute call to not put the Brompton in the car, and now I'm kicking myself for having been stuck in avoidable traffic this morning. When I get home I'm gonna give my S6L a big hug.
PSA/moral of the story: Always carry your Brompton. :'(

My wife just got herself an electric M6L for a really good price. She's been super jealous of our neighbour since she got hers, so she's absolutely chuffed to bits now

If not using mudguards, is there any disadvantages to running a bigger 16” tyre like the vans waffle, or something like this:
-
• #15298
Different 16" standard I'm afraid. Brompton is fractional 16 x 1-3/8 (349mm) and kids 16" size is 305mm decimal...
-
• #15299
You could put a Tru Blu tyre in the front and rear (40/349) or a Vee Tyre Goodie Goodie (ETRTO 37-349) which come up bigger.

Such a great bicycle

Exactly what I bought in early March. Swapped out tyres for schwalbe tan walls, put on some ergon grips and a borough bag. I'm quite short so went with the s bars.
It's the most practical bike I've got and somehow at the same time it's still genuinely fun to ride (something I did worry about initially).
Can't recommend it enough.
