can anyone help?
I finally got round to doing oil/ filter and clutch fluid change on the vfr...
oil/ filter change went smoothly but clutch fluid change not so much.I followed Kevs Shed on youtube and all went ok apart from letting the reservioir run dry and introducing air into the system. I've been using one of the pressurized bleed kits and have now done it at least six times and have no bubbles. However when I put it into gear and pull the clutch in I still can't rotate the wheel.
Any ideas?

What's the pressure like at the clutch lever? If you can get the slave cylinder higher than the master cylinder that has always helped me with tricky hydraulics.

it seems fine however when I pulled the lever in with the master cylinder cap off and fluid shoots out!! (luckily I have covered things over) it doesn't do that when he tries on YouTube? not sure if that means anything?
not sure I can without taking the bike to bits, the slave cylinder is down by the gear lever?

My old Transalp went through this (its the 700 version of a Vaderado)
Went for an MOT, passed no drama, wouldn't start when I picked it up, they assumed killswitch, but alas not.
Jumped it for me, I went for a 40 minute ride, was fine for a few weeks, but got progressively longer to start (Eventually wouldn't start after 5 a side and needed a do-or-die bump start down a steep hill into a closed industrial area, if it didn't catch I was stranded because I had no chance of pushing it back up, and everyone else had gone home, mercifully I was successful, was my first ever bump start too!)Bought a new battery, wasn't very expensive or difficult to fit, i assume the XL1000 is equally as easy to do it on.

Great, that does sound like the culprit. Got some new plugs on the way as they're due to be replaced in the service schedule, so I'll source a battery too. I can't believe how much iridium plugs are!
Definitely don't want to push anywhere, it's a right lump.

Can't say I've ever had fluid shooting out the reservoir, makes me think it's not travelling down to the slave. I appreciate trying to get the slave higher than the lever might be a nightmare!

I’ve had another go and put the catch cup above the slave cylinder and now just getting bubbles for ever!
I appreciate the help

Where are you?
Get a big syringe, 50ml plus and a bit of plastic tube. Then either reverse bleed or draw the fluid out
Or a length of tube that goes higher than reservoir. Open bleed and leave for an hour or two and the magic of physics means the the air will be gone.

I have this that I’ll post out FOC to someone (they can do a forum donation).
It’s proper old.
Anyone got an R6?
If not I’ll stick it on the van as a joke, cutting vinyl letters either side for cbr600.

Unfortunately up near Manchester.
so a bit like you do with shimano brakes? so draw it out from the master cylinder reservoir?
I've not a tube length that long, what diameter/size is the hose required to fit over the bleed nipple?
Not sure where all them bubbles can be coming from? I'm either doing something wrong or somethings broken? This is outside my comfort zone - I'm ok with oil changes and disc/pads.... -

Adventure/trail bike questions to the owners.
Anyone owned any of the following or similar Transalp, KLE, XTZ, Dominator etc?
I thinking of getting another mid weight adventure bike. I want to be at around the £1500 or less ideally. Anyone owned any of the above. Any ones to steer clear of? I know the XTZ might be just out of my price range this is also why I haven't listed the DR as well. The Transalp looks an interesting prospect and can be had for cheap.
It will be used for clocking the miles but also quite a bit of off road which will get heavier at times hopefully.
My thoughts are if the price starts to get up towards the £2000 mark I might as well get another Himmi but you get more precious about throwing it at the scenery the more the price increases.
Also if anyone has anything and fancies a trade with a ZZr600 let me know. It's just had a recent MOT and needs nothing.

I had BMW F650 and Aprilia Pegaso on my list of these
-

What did you think of them? I looked at the Funduro but it had quite a few niggly issues that seen to arise. Same with the Pegaso. One came for sale locally for cheap. I should have went and checked it out.

Well they were only on my list - I ended up with a massive faux trailie (varadero) instead because a colleague was selling it cheap.

Ah got you.

Realised my helmet was last worn when a car took me out, so set about finding a replacement. Nearly bought the Alpinestars Supertech R10, just because it looks mental (plus some very good reviews) and who doesn't need a bit of bling? But it was an odd fit - very narrow. Ended up with a slightly more sensible Shoei X-SPR Pro, which is lovely - great ventilation, light, good lateral vision, quiet. An upgrade on the Arai RX7 I had. Full-face helmets really benefit from the developments made for racers.

My first 125 and I love it. Previous owner painted it with ‘fake rust’ and I have started to remove. Thinking to leave as is now and remain that cosplay cunt or rattlecan it. I dunno.

‘Fake Rust’, jeez.
I’m new to powered bikes, just got a 50cc Vespa this year - what is yours? -
• #25722
Same. Totally new to it but loving so far. It’s a 2021 Scomadi TT made in Thailand I think. Parts seem like they might be harder to come across than say a Vespa. A garage I visited this morning say they only work on them if you supply parts as they are take an age to arrive.

Thanks, typical story on parts for lesser known imports, good luck and good fun!

Spent the day on Salisbury plains riding a Fantic xef250 with Phoenix trails a couple of weeks back. Can highly recommend it, 6hrs of riding trails and only one gate to open. Annoyingly the itch is even greater for a trail bike now.
Was nearly sent to the shadow realm by a speeding taxi, joining the road from some of the trails involve blind corners and you just need to cross your toes.

How local are you to me in Devizes then? I’m not sure I know of anyone selling but I’m up for a ride.
All CV carbs do that.
