Yeah their beans are great but I had the same experience, had to do that thing where you go 'oh, actually it's ok' and hand them back

No, but the question was 'interesting' coffees. People using nespresso machines do happily pay £20+ for 250g regularly

Yes true! I've bought a bag myself and looking forward to trying it in the Clever Dripper

Interesting seeing as we were just talking about pricey London coffee, this is a whole other (ridiculous) level.

I was just about to post the same! Seemed to be a function of scarcity and “pretentious-ness ” in wanting to tell the story that you’ve had it. Interesting none the less, wonder how many repeat customers they’ll get

You can have a great coffee there for more than a ‘normal’ coffee and less than £10

I was away working last weekend, took my Aeropress Go with me, really missed my Clever Dripper. The coffee was NOWHERE near as good.

On the topic of beans, I've never tried the Square Mile filter blend, is it any good?
-
• #26735
I generally pick up a bag of that and one of their other filter roasts when making an order, always been happy with it. To be fair I'd say Square Mile is far and away the most common place for me to order from so I'm probably biased there, but a happy customer!

I like it. A bit more fruity than Red Brick but not so acidic that I can't enjoy it - (i don't like super light roast acid bombs)

It's just the best, so much margin for error, even if you completely fuck it up you'll end up with a decent brew.

Thanks @mmccarthy and @ChasnotRobert I'll pick up a bag from Kaffeine next week

Gaggia Classic repair question
I finally got round to replacing my leaky boiler gasket which has stopped the leak. The steam wand seems to be working fine in terms of flow and pressure but when you direct flow thru the portafilter it’s a tiny trickle, almost non-existent. (I removed the shower screen and block and poked through all 4 holes in the block )
Any ideas? -
• #26747
Is the exit hole in the bottom of the boiler blocked? It’s quite small and a bit of scale or debris can block it up from the inside.
-
• #26748
Thanks, that’s worth a look - it was pretty messy in there
I’m also wondering whether I should be looking at the 2 solenoid valves.

Quite common when clean/scaling a little bit of flushed scale can block the solenoid that switches flow between steam and grouphead as well - I'd take that off and give everything a physical clean/clear.

Even easier when already in bits like the above!
Thanks mate, this is the validation I needed
