  • Have had my Makiyakinabe for 7 years now. Best £12 ever spent.

  • Well I'll have to be getting one of those now won't I

  • Arguably a saute pan is just a shallow sauce pan...

  • a sauce pan is just a high sided crepe pan.

  • everything is just a wok really

  • You can do almost everything in a wok.
    Except making something square.

  • round base woks need not apply

  • get yer woks out

  • I can see a pancake or whatever working in that pan but doesn't stuff get caught in the cornerS?

  • Got one of those for Korean street toast recipes.
Mine doesn’t quite sit flat anymore so I get some egg seepage.

  • Looking for a sink

    600mm wide

    Reasonably deep

Stainless steel (although could be talked out of this)

    Undermount

1.5 basin (ie, one large, one small).

    Suggestions?

  • We got a Blanco.

My dad found a bargain one for about £120 which was preferable to the £500+ of some.

  • Trying to help my dad with something and hope this doesn't go in the golf club thread....
Has anyone converted their gas aga to electric? How do they find it? Can it still be a source of heat like a radiator?
Wasteful to bin it, would leave a big hole. Seems pointless to spend money refurbing it as due to cost of running it it's off half> the year anyway. Currently only source of heat in kitchen and there is a separate induction hob and single oven. Fits nicely in the kitchen and is in need of a big overhaul. Been there for 30+ years and installed by previous owners. Been regularly serviced but parts increasingly hard to source.

  • Any kitchen appliance-ists want this (free)? I can’t be arsed to fit it.

  • Dredge. Did you get the pans? We have one that the coating is perishing. Did you need to supply proof of purchase???

  • Anything I should do with an old Dyson DC-08 (non pet version, probably ~20 years old) other than take it to the dump (electrical item recycling bit obviously)?

The hose is broken where it flexes in the head (a common failure it seems) but it still works as a vacuum cleaner. I've tried patching the hose with ducktape in the past but it eventually comes loose again.

I've already purchased a Miele C3 as a replacement so this is surplus to requirements and taking up space.

I did start to look into the £100 trade in offer that Dyson have but I'm not interested in getting a new Dyson (Brexit twat). And I saw the forum recommended Miele C3 was £100 off at John Lewis and that was good enough for me.

I'm not interested in selling it or posting it (since it's heavy and possibly not sucking very well) but it's better than nothing so anyone who can collect it from SW15 is welcome to it for a forum donation of their choice. Don't mind what someone does with it, use it themselves, break it for parts, use it as part exchange for a new Dyson or hoik it on eBay - whatever, just give a suitable donation to the forum please.

  • The answer you don’t want to hear is to cut your losses and get rid of the Aga. Agas are a tool from a bygone era when energy was cheap and there were fewer kitchen appliance options and technologies. All other appliances are now amazing and energy will never be cheap again, that’s a fact.

  • I wonder if it could be converted into an outdoor bbq?

  • A local repair cafe might take it of you...

  • Got pans, for one I had proof of purchase. They told me off for misusing them but someone else on here had the identical email, apart from using olive oil (which I have seen now elsewhere is not recommended for use on non stick pans) I had used them pretty carefully.

  • Cool. I've lost my proof of purchase. Might try anyway 👍

  • I wonder if it could be converted into an outdoor bbq?

    Initial musings:

  • It could be replaced with an oven if it fits in the gap. But then the kitchen will have no radiator and there isn't a space for one anywhere else so will be freezing in the kitchen Oct-feb (very old house)
    I do agree though
