  • Two years after buying this, I finally got it up and the running. First ride was briljant.

  • Hahah epic!

  • I assume the trailer is for when one of the 3 riders gets tired?
    Rad, I love

  • Awesome. I've just been to Terschelling, charming island.

And that tandem is so rad!

  • Send you a pm about carbon seatpost, saw it ?

  • So this happened. The Moonlander build gave me headaches (leaking Rohloff hub, wheel built with the wrong offset, etc.). I really needed to get some miles in on the mountainbike, so I decided to build a ready built bike.

Other than the groupset, the build spec is very nice. Not sure if I like the tires, but somehow they are growing on me.

  • I had a go on an Ice Cream Truck a few years ago, so much fun rolling over things that everybody else was avoiding.
Safety mask blue and those tyres look cool, once they are dirty they’ll be even better.

  • "The ridiculous fat bike build was giving me grief so I bought another ridiculous fat bike" is a power move, much respect.

Looks like the 8 pack rack is missing the additional bits that Surly added in to prevent anyone else having to go for facial reconstructive surgery, so I'd probs give that a regular check for tightness / add in a safety strap to the headtube if I were you.

  • Is that your moon lander on marktplaats?

  • Does anyone here do soft sand? Fat bikes always remind me of the first guy to cycle the Canning Stock Route in 2005, Jakub Postrzygacz. The CSR was said to be impossible, everybody dies etc. ISTR that 4" tyres became available for the Surly Pugsley and Jakub reckoned they made the route possible. He put a third 4" tyre on an Extrawheel trailer loaded with water and succeeded. Since then loads of people have copied him. He used to have a staggering photo album online but i can't find it. He's pictured on the CSR wiki page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canning_Stock_Route

  • Outrageous.

  • Oh no! Thats sad. Its so much cooler than this blue one imho

  • The blueish color does look much nicer in real life. But nowhere near as nice as the green yellow combo of the Special OPS color scheme.

  • The racks came on the bike when I bought it. I will be taking them off because I don't have any bikepacking plans. Not with this bike anyway.

  • Fair play. If you do end up using it or selling it on then you can ask Surly for the additional hardware via: https://surlybikes.com/rack_safety_hardware_request

  • Two of my favorite rims in one box. Surly Marge Lites and Rabbit Holes in polished version. All I need now are hubs.

  • Changed the groupset, fitted a dropper post and removed the racks. Next up are new rims which will happen somewhere in July.

  • Possible upgrade / downgrade. I think it would look great on the bike with a new 1x spider and a silver chainring. The silver one would have been even better, can they seem to be unobtanium. What are your thoughts?

  • Rode the fat bike for the first time at the mountainbike track surrounding the Zandvoort racing circuit. First impressions are very postive.

  • So this is basically a gravelbike😎

  • New bike day :) . It is a Raptobike recumbent. It is replacing the Cannondale Topstone, which I mostly used for commuting. The previous owner upgraded pretty much everything on it, so not much to do on it, other than to learn how to ride it. Because riding this thing is pretty darn difficult.

  • Wild! I'd be terrified commuting on something that low down. Needs a flag or something.

  • Naah, nah naah, nah, DANGERZONE!
