  • Bought this off @EcuriePeril last night.
Has been unused for a number of years. Paint looks much better in the photos, it’s actually quite bubbly with surface rust in places. Plan is to get it painted and mainly build it up from the parts bin. Will be used for commutes, shopping and shorter trips to the hills.
Thankfully it had all been well greased. Though the seatpost and stem took some medium-level swearing to get out.
Very nicely built frame by Lee Cooper from 1999 with 531C tubing and 28.6 top tube.
Got a couple of other projects lined up so figured I may as well start a thread.

  • Nice! Whats the tyre clearance like?

  • I think they were designed for 28s max with guards. Though I'll try and sneak in 32s first.

  • Great project and it is in good hands

  • Should we expect another ice cream paint scheme?

  • Kind of, but not as many scoops.

  • That was the first really good frame I bought, paint was rubbish but so comfy. Did 50k kms on mine, looked like new with an Argos respray.

  • very cool will be watching this

  • Need to fettle the mudguards a bit more, sort the dynamo wiring and need a longer front lamp bracket as the lamp fouls the basket with this one. Plus would like some white cages for the full peaches & cream aesthetic (anyone got a couple or three?). May get transfers, not fully decided yet. Proper test ride the morrow.

  • Chapeau my friend, what a great build that is.

  • Very nice. I have a spare light bracket thingy - Nitto one - that you can have for postage + a small forum donation.
